Saudi Cabinet Reaffirms Support for OIC Position on Gaza, Calls for Urgent Global Action

JEDDAH: The Saudi Council of Ministers, chaired by King Salman, on Tuesday reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for the outcomes of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Jeddah, which addressed Israel’s ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people.

In a statement reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the cabinet underscored the need for urgent international action, particularly by the permanent members of the UN Security Council, to halt the violence and ensure the protection of civilians in Gaza.

The ministers also reviewed the outcomes of recent high-level diplomatic engagements. These included Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his telephone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Additionally, the cabinet discussed a message received by King Salman from President El-Sisi concerning the strengthening of bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

The council reiterated that the Kingdom remains steadfast in its support for the Palestinian cause and will continue to coordinate closely with regional and international partners to advance peace and stability.
