TEHRAN: Iran’s armed forces and allied resistance groups across the Middle East have significantly intensified coordinated military operations against United States and Israeli-linked targets, according to statements released by Iranian authorities.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army said multiple attacks were carried out on Saturday as part of Operation True Promise 4, launched following what Tehran describes as US-Israeli aggression against Iran on February 28.
Iranian officials claim that, to date, at least 85 waves of missile and drone strikes have been conducted, targeting Israeli military infrastructure as well as US bases and assets across the region.
In its latest operation, described as the 85th wave, the IRGC said it deployed a combination of long- and medium-range missiles along with attack drones against what it called “strategic industrial and military targets.” The operation was reportedly carried out jointly by the IRGC’s aerospace and naval divisions.
Iranian statements also claimed that air defense systems successfully intercepted incoming threats during the operation, including the downing of an American MQ-9 drone near Shiraz and an F-16 fighter jet in southern Iran. These claims have not been independently verified.
Separately, the Iranian Army reported targeting Israeli-linked radar and fuel storage facilities using drone strikes, while also claiming the interception of additional unmanned aerial vehicles in southern regions.
The escalation is not limited to Iran. Allied groups in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen have also reportedly increased their operations.
Hezbollah in Lebanon said it launched multiple attacks on Israeli military positions, including missile and drone strikes targeting bases, troop gatherings, and armored vehicles along the northern front. The group described its actions as part of its defense strategy and in response to ongoing hostilities.
In Iraq, resistance factions claimed responsibility for strikes on US military assets in Iraq and neighboring countries, while Yemeni forces reported launching ballistic and cruise missile attacks on Israeli-linked targets in southern areas.
The developments mark a sharp escalation in regional tensions, with multiple fronts now active across West Asia. Analysts warn that the widening scope of attacks increases the risk of a broader and more sustained conflict involving state and non-state actors.
There has been no immediate confirmation from US or Israeli officials regarding the full extent of the reported strikes and losses.
