11-Year-Old Boy Reported Missing Found Drowned
NILAI: An 11‑year‑old boy who went missing while participating in the Tahfiz Maghfirah Junior (TMJ) Programme at Yayasan Maghfirah, Kampung Kapal, Lenggeng, was found unconscious in a water pool near the location of the incident last night.
Nilai District Police Chief, Superintendent Johari Yahya said, police received a report on the victim’s disappearance at 12.28 am, before a search operation was conducted with the cooperation of relevant parties around the area.
“The victim was found weak in the pool and resuscitation was administered before a medical officer from the Lenggeng Health Clinic confirmed his death,” he said when contacted.
According to him, the victim’s body was taken to the Forensic Department of Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital, Seremban for a post‑mortem scheduled for 10 am today to determine the cause of death.
Johari said, investigations are still ongoing to determine the chronology and actual circumstances of the incident, including examining the possibility of negligence or other factors.
“The classification of the case will be determined based on the investigation findings and the post‑mortem report,” he said.
