Warriors’ Day Cannon Fire: Putrajaya Residents Asked Not To Panic, Several Roads Temporarily Closed
PUTRAJAYA: The public, especially residents around Putrajaya, are advised not to panic if they hear the sound of cannon explosions on July 29 and 31, as it is part of the official ceremony in conjunction with the Warriors’ Day 2026 celebration.
Putrajaya District Police Chief, ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed, said the Warriors’ Day 2026 celebration will take place on July 31 (Friday) at Dataran Pahlawan Negara, Precinct 1, Putrajaya.
According to him, the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) will carry out cannon fire during the full rehearsal session, involving two shots, and on the celebration day, a total of 21 cannon shots will be discharged starting at 8.30 am.
Therefore, he asked the public not to be alarmed or make any speculation if they hear the cannon explosion sounds throughout that period.
To ensure the smooth progress of the official ceremony, police will implement temporary closures and traffic diversions starting from 7.00 am to 10.00 am on July 31.

Road users are advised to plan their journeys in advance, use alternative routes, and obey the instructions of police officers and traffic personnel stationed at the locations to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of all road users.
Aidi Sham also expressed appreciation to the public for their cooperation, patience and concern throughout the implementation of the Warriors’ Day 2026 celebration.
