Rozita Che Wan excited for son’s upcoming engagement

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Rozita Che Wan is eagerly anticipating the merisik (engagement) ceremony for her eldest son, Ammar Effendy Azuar, 28, which is scheduled for next week.

In a statement to Berita Harian, Rozita expressed that the identity of her son’s future wife is less important to her than the qualities she possesses. She emphasized that as long as Ammar’s future wife is kind, respectful, and courteous to her in-laws, she will be welcomed warmly.

Rozita, 51, shared that she has never imposed specific conditions on her children regarding their choice of life partners. She expressed her happiness at adding a new member to her family.

“I am pleased with my son’s future wife as she wears a hijab and is humble, caring, and compassionate. The most important thing is Ammar’s happiness. As a husband, he should be both a friend and a protector to her,” Rozita said.

She noted that Ammar’s future wife is not someone who spends excessive time on social media but prefers quality moments with her loved ones. “She is a university graduate from a well-educated family. Her father works abroad but frequently returns to Malaysia and used to play golf with Ammar.”

Rozita hinted that the wedding might be held next year and concluded with a request for everyone’s prayers for a smooth ceremony.
