Police Searching for Driver, Owner of Burnt Toyota Wish

KUANTAN: A multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) was found overturned and burnt at Kilometre 26 of Jalan Jerantut–Kuala Tahan on Tuesday.

Jerantut District Police Chief Superintendent Nor Azman Yusof said, however, that no victims were found at the scene.

He said the identities of the driver and owner of the vehicle, believed to be a Toyota Wish, had yet to be established.

“Police received a report at approximately 5.20am regarding a road accident involving an MPV that was believed to have skidded off the road, overturned and caught fire.

“Preliminary investigations found that the vehicle, believed to have been travelling from Kuala Tahan towards Jerantut, lost control while negotiating a bend before skidding off the road, overturning and catching fire,” he said.

Nor Azman said further investigations were ongoing to identify the driver and vehicle owner, as well as determine the exact cause of the incident.

He therefore urged the driver of the vehicle to come forward and lodge a police report.

“Members of the public or witnesses who saw the incident are also urged to contact the assistant investigating officer at 016-959 1885 to assist in the investigation,” he said.
