Teenager used mother’s ID to pretend as hospital staff
SERDANG: The 14-year-old girl arrested for impersonating a hospital staff member at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital (Serdang Hospital) used her mother’s identity card to gain unauthorized access.
Sepang police chief Superintendent Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof revealed that the preliminary investigation showed the girl had posed as her mother and utilized her identity card to enter the hospital. He added that the police had also taken a statement from the teenager’s mother last night.
“This morning, the teenager was brought to the Sepang Magistrate’s Court for a remand application. We obtained a two-day remand order to investigate the case, starting from today,” he said.
Wan Kamarul Azran noted that the case is being investigated under Section 470 of the Penal Code for trespassing and Section 170 for impersonating a public servant. When asked about the girl’s mental health, he mentioned that the police might request a mental health assessment from the court once the case is heard.
The Health Ministry earlier stated that the preliminary investigation revealed the teen had used a fake ID to pose as a hospital staff member. It was also reported that the 14-year-old had offered to assist in the operating room while pretending to be part of the hospital staff.
