GISSCO to celebrate 50th anniversary with Golden Jubilee Gala and service awards
PETALING JAYA – In a landmark moment for Malaysia’s oil and gas industry, GISSCO Sdn Bhd, the first Bumiputera company awarded PETRONAS License 001, is set to host its 50th Golden Jubilee Gala and 2025 Excellence Service Awards on Sept 15 in Kuala Lumpur.
The event, to be held at a premier hotel in the capital, is expected to draw over 400 guests, including key stakeholders, industry partners, employees, and media representatives.
Marking five decades since its founding in 1975, the celebration will not only honour the company’s achievements but also pay tribute to the individuals who have been instrumental in GISSCO’s growth and resilience.
From its early days as a small offshore catering provider, GISSCO has grown into a leading Bumiputera player in the oil and gas sector, offering offshore/onshore manpower services, non-destructive testing (NDT), event management, and high-quality personal protective equipment (PPE).
The evening will also see the unveiling of a new corporate logo, symbolising GISSCO’s ongoing evolution and future ambitions.
GISSCO Director Umaira Mohammad Rashid said the PETRONAS License 001 was more than a recognition — it was a legacy built on grit and dedication.
“Being awarded PETRONAS License 001 is not just a privilege – it’s a legacy. We extend our deepest appreciation to all strategic partners, especially PETRONAS, for their continued trust in GISSCO,” she said.
She paid tribute to the company’s late founder, Mohammad Rashid Mohd Fahmi, whose determination laid the foundation for GISSCO’s enduring success.
“His perseverance in the face of adversity shaped the values that continue to drive our progress. Remaining relevant in this competitive and digital era is not easy, but our foundation — built on teamwork — keeps us strong,” she added.
She expressed hope that GISSCO’s journey would serve as an inspiration for the next generation of Bumiputera entrepreneurs to lead with integrity and national identity.
A key highlight of the gala will be the 2025 Excellence Service Awards, honouring loyal and dedicated employees from GISSCO branches in Miri, Kemaman, Labuan, and Kuala Lumpur.
To add to the celebratory mood, the night will feature performances by iconic Malaysian artists including Dato’ Khatijah Ibrahim, Dato’ Hattan, Dayang Nurfaizah, Mimi Fly, and Atilia, offering guests a nostalgic and vibrant experience.
The gala is also expected to be officiated by a prominent guest of honour representing Malaysia’s economic and corporate leadership. An official announcement on the VIP’s attendance will be made in the coming weeks.
