GOMBAK: The Chief of Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Gombak, Haris Harahap, has expressed concern over a recently viral household motivation program that has sparked unease among the public.
He said the program, which was allegedly inappropriate in nature, has caught the attention of the authorities, including the Selangor Menteri Besar who has instructed the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) to conduct an investigation.
“I welcome the move by the Honourable Menteri Besar, who has taken this matter seriously and directed JAIS to investigate the organization of the program,” he said in a statement today.
According to Haris, any program related to the family institution, particularly matters of marriage and household, must be conducted with wisdom, ethics, and in accordance with religious and cultural values.
“A program that claims to empower married couples should not make participants feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, or create public confusion,” he stressed.
Haris also urged all organizers of such programs to be more aware of their social impact and to approach their efforts with professionalism and sensitivity.
“I do not wish to pre-empt the outcome of the investigation, but the public demands transparency and accountability. If any ethical breach is proven, appropriate action must be taken,” he said.
He emphasized that issues like this should not be taken lightly, as they can undermine public trust and affect efforts to build strong and resilient family institutions.
