Melaka PH Identifies Potential Candidates for Upcoming State Election

PETALING JAYA: Melaka Pakatan Harapan (PH) has identified potential candidates to contest in the upcoming Melaka State Election.

Melaka PH chairman Adly Zahari said the candidates were currently being evaluated by the coalition’s component parties before any final decisions are made.

“The candidates have been identified and are now undergoing evaluation by the parties within PH,” he told Utusan Malaysia.

Commenting on potential political cooperation ahead of the election, he said any decision would be determined at a PH Presidential Council meeting.

“Political cooperation will be decided at the PH Presidential Council meeting,” he said.

Meanwhile, Adly said the 14-day campaign period set for the Melaka State Election would provide candidates with an opportunity to conduct their respective campaigns.

He said the period would allow candidates to make full use of the time allocated for election campaigning.

Previously, Utusan Malaysia reported that Election Commission (EC) chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun had announced Nov 14 as polling day for the 16th Melaka State Election.

He said nomination day had been set for Oct 31, while early voting would take place on Nov 10.

“The campaign period will begin after the declaration of candidates on Oct 31 and continue until 11.59pm on Nov 13,” he said.
