KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed concern about the high accident rate among motorcyclists, which he attributes to weaknesses in law enforcement and road maintenance issues.

According to Bernama, in a Facebook post, the Prime Minister noted that similar concerns were expressed by Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Chairman of the Safe Community Organization, during their meeting today.

“Among the key points of our meeting were issues related to road safety and workplace safety.

“I hope NGOs like this one, and others, will continue to serve the community by fostering a sustainable safety culture and playing a role in conveying the government’s mission and objectives, especially raising awareness about Malaysia MADANI,” he said.

Anwar stated that the NGO led by Lam Thye, an influential social activist, plays a role in promoting awareness campaigns, safety, and educating the public to create a safe and healthy culture and a conducive working environment.
