BN Rejects Racial Politics, ‘Politics of Fear’ – Zambry
SHAH ALAM: Barisan Nasional (BN) has firmly rejected any statements that fuel racial sentiments and promote the “politics of fear”, which it says are being used by certain parties to create divisions among Malaysia’s multi-ethnic society.
BN Secretary-General Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir said the multi-racial political coalition would never compromise with any party that seeks to question the position of any ethnic group as an integral part of Malaysian society or create unnecessary anxiety among the people.
Elaborating further, Zambry criticised the narrative of the politics of fear, which suggests that the future of a particular ethnic community would be threatened if certain political parties were to assume power.
He stressed that such an approach is dangerous as it fosters suspicion, prejudice, and hatred among Malaysians.
Meanwhile, BN also clarified its political understanding and cooperation during the Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN).
“That political cooperation does not in any way mean that BN has compromised its core principles or adopted the political narrative of any other party. On the contrary, BN remains firmly committed to its own principles,” he said.
Zambry added that for more than six decades, BN has demonstrated that Malaysia can be developed through power-sharing, mutual respect, and moderation, which have long been the coalition’s greatest strengths in preserving national stability, harmony, and progress.
He said BN remains committed to promoting a politics of moderation, stability, and unity, while continuing to uphold the Federal Constitution, the Rukun Negara, and the nation’s founding constitutional framework.
According to him, this framework upholds Islam as the religion of the Federation, safeguards the institution of the Malay Rulers, protects the special position of the Malays and Bumiputera, and guarantees the legitimate rights of all Malaysian citizens.
“Barisan Nasional rejects those who seek to build racial barriers and promote the politics of fear.
“BN will continue to provide leadership that builds bridges of unity, strengthens public confidence, and offers a shared future for all Malaysians,” he added.
