Malaysia Strongly Condemns Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli Settlers

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has strongly condemned the latest reported storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli settlers, including the raising of an Israeli flag within the holy site.

In an official statement, Malaysia said the act amounted to a desecration of the mosque and warned against any attempts to alter the status, cultural identity, and historical character of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

It described the incident as provocative and unacceptable and said it disregards the custodial role over Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem.

Malaysia also urged the international community and the United Nations to take immediate and concrete action to stop such violations and ensure accountability.

The statement further stressed that the international community should not remain silent in the face of ongoing tensions and aggression in the occupied territories.

Reaffirming its foreign policy stance, Malaysia expressed unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and reiterated its long-standing support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
