KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians who are still in Yemen have been advised to prioritise their personal safety and make immediate preparations to leave the country voluntarily while commercial flights remain available, amid an increasingly uncertain security situation.

The Malaysian Embassy in Muscat, Oman, said in a notice posted on Facebook that it is closely monitoring security developments in Yemen following escalating tensions and ongoing armed conflicts in several parts of the country.

“Malaysians are advised to carefully plan their departure, including ensuring safe travel routes, the availability of transportation and complete travel documents, as well as checking the status of their respective flights,” the embassy said.

The embassy also advised Malaysians to remain vigilant, avoid conflict areas, stay updated on the latest security developments and comply with instructions issued by local authorities.

In addition, Malaysians have been urged to postpone all travel to Yemen until the security situation in the country stabilises.

Malaysians who are still in Yemen and have not registered with the embassy are urged to do so through the e-Konsular portal at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my and download the MyWorldAlert application.

Any developments and important information will be communicated through the Malaysian Embassy’s official communication channels in Muscat.

For enquiries or consular assistance, Malaysians may contact the embassy’s emergency hotline at +968 7159 2388 or email mwmuscat@kln.gov.my.
