KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 :Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has lauded the crucial role played by Islamic Affairs officers under the Religious and Counselling Division (BAKA), Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in fostering the spiritual and moral strength of the police force.

Speaking during a meeting with the officers at Bukit Aman today, Saifuddin said their contributions, though often behind the scenes, form a vital pillar in guiding and nurturing the ethical foundation of PDRM personnel through Islamic values.

“Although their role may not always be visible, their presence is deeply felt behind the scenes. They are the spiritual backbone that helps shape the moral and emotional strength of the force,” he said.

The Home Minister stressed that their work should not be confined to routine responsibilities but should go beyond daily tasks to reinforce the deeper meaning and purpose of their service.

“Your duties are not merely to carry out tasks but to transcend routine — to strengthen the values and essence behind your service. Continue your good work, but at the same time, have the courage to go beyond the daily boundaries to empower the moral core of PDRM,” he added.

Saifuddin also assured that bureaucratic challenges would be addressed to enable officers to fully focus on their mission of strengthening the spiritual and moral resilience of the police force.

“Do not worry about bureaucracy. I will ensure internal processes are simplified so that officers can devote their full energy to enriching the spiritual and ethical strength of PDRM personnel,” he said.

He expressed confidence that as this role continues to expand and gain recognition, PDRM will not only remain a strong pillar of national security but also evolve into a value-driven institution that nurtures a more harmonious and morally grounded society.
