4,800 Out of 6,000 Recipients of 2026 Selangor Muassasah Haji Incentive Have Received Assistance – Amirudin

SEPANG: A total of 4,800 out of 6,000 recipients of the 2026 Selangor Muassasah Haji Incentive have received the assistance to date, with the distribution to all recipients expected to be completed by September.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the remaining more than 1,000 recipients are being identified and contacted to complete the assistance distribution process.

“We believe by the end of August or September we can complete all 6,000 recipients,” he said.

He said this to reporters after attending the 2026 Muassasah Haji Incentive Contribution Handover Ceremony for the Dengkil State Legislative Assembly (DUN) at Dewan Komuniti Putra Perdana, Puchong, which was also attended by Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu who is also Sepang Member of Parliament.

Amirudin said the ceremony involved 259 recipients and was part of a series of assistance handovers to Muassasah pilgrims throughout Selangor.

The state government through Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (Yayasan MBI) has allocated RM9 million for the implementation of the 2026 Muassasah Haji Incentive Programme which benefits 6,000 Muassasah pilgrims statewide.

Through the initiative, each recipient receives RM1,500 as preparatory assistance for performing the hajj pilgrimage, including to cover the cost of pilgrimage equipment, medications, clothing and other necessities.

Amirudin said the state government aims to increase the incentive amount to RM2,000 per person in the future, depending on financial capability and current circumstances.

“According to the plan, perhaps in 2027 or at the latest 2028 we will try to complete it up to RM2,000. We will see the suitability and implementation of this programme from time to time.

“We cannot promise everything because if we suddenly face financial constraints, but we do have a target of RM2,000 when the time comes,” he said.
