SEPANG, Aug 30 :  The Malaysia Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) has intensified enforcement at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), denying entry to 104 foreign nationals within the past 24 hours for failing to meet immigration requirements.

According to AKPS, a total of 54,947 international travelers were screened across both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 during the period, involving 362 inbound and 361 outbound flights.

In a statement on Saturday, the agency said:

“Comprehensive screenings led to the detection of 104 individuals, mostly from Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan, who did not fulfil entry conditions under the Immigration Act 1959/63.”

Authorities noted that most of those refused entry failed to provide valid reasons for their visit, lacked proper accommodation or return tickets, and gave questionable explanations during the screening process.

At the same time, the agency confirmed that 288 additional travelers remain stranded at KLIA after being denied entry and are currently awaiting repatriation.

AKPS stressed that strict border control remains a priority to protect Malaysia’s security and ensure only eligible visitors are granted access.

“Our firm action will continue to safeguard national security and the integrity of Malaysia’s entry points,” the agency added.
