12 Police Officers And Personnel Arrested Over RM2 Million Extortion Case

PETALING JAYA: A total of 12 police officers and personnel of various ranks have been arrested after being suspected of extorting a Chinese national of RM2 million.

According to sources, the victim, however, only managed to pay RM560,000 before deciding to lodge a police report.

“Police also recovered part of the money believed to be linked to the case,” he said.

According to him, the victim then came forward to lodge a report at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters.

It is understood that a total of 12 police officers and personnel were arrested, some of whom hold the ranks of Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and other ranks.

Meanwhile, Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam, when contacted, confirmed the arrests.
