Scriptwriter takes legal action against Amelia Henderson

KUALA LUMPUR: The legal dispute between Haironizan Mohd Idris, the scriptwriter for the drama Sekali Lagi Cinta Kembali, and actress Amelia Henderson is set to proceed to trial after mediation efforts failed to resolve the issue.

According to a news report, Haironizan’s lawyer, Nor Zabetha Muhamad Nor, stated that the mediation process, conducted by Deputy Registrar Mazilah Manap at the Kuala Lumpur Court Mediation Centre, did not result in an agreement between the parties.

“The case is scheduled for a hearing on February 6 and 7, 2025, before Sessions Court Judge Faiz Dziyauddin,” she said. The court has also set October 4 for an online case management session.

Mansheel Kaur, representing Amelia Henderson, confirmed that the mediation had not succeeded.

In the lawsuit filed on September 20, 2023, Haironizan alleges that Amelia withdrew from her role in *Sekali Lagi Cinta Kembali* with A. Aida Production Sdn Bhd on January 25, 2022, without providing any reason.

Haironizan also claims that Amelia posted a video on her Instagram account on June 25, 2022, that damaged his reputation. He asserts that the video portrayed his script as promoting domestic violence and misogyny.

Haironizan is seeking an injunction to prevent Amelia from further disseminating or publishing the alleged defamatory statements, as well as general, special, and aggravated damages.
