RIYADH:  Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Monday warned that Israel’s ongoing violations in the Palestinian territories are undermining international efforts to achieve a two-state solution.

Speaking at an emergency ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) convened to address the escalating Israeli aggression against Palestinians, Prince Faisal stressed that global momentum is growing in support of Palestinian statehood.

“The number of countries that have decided to recognize a Palestinian state is steadily increasing,” he said, highlighting the Kingdom’s role in mobilizing international recognition.

Prince Faisal reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He also renewed the Kingdom’s call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and urged the international community to take decisive action to end Israeli occupation.

The minister further criticized states reluctant to condemn Israel’s actions, urging them to reconsider their positions in light of ongoing humanitarian violations.

The OIC emergency session brought together foreign ministers from member states to discuss collective measures aimed at alleviating the crisis in Gaza and reinforcing support for the Palestinian cause.
