Melon Festival, Selangor Agrogreen 2026 Offer Agro Experience For The Public
SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Department of Agriculture will organise the Melon Festival and Selangor Agrogreen 2026 for three days starting July 24 to 26 at the Selangor Melon Technology Centre, Kuala Langat District Agriculture Office.
In a statement on Facebook, the agency informed that the festival will run from 9 am to 10 pm with various activities based on agriculture, agro-tourism and education.
According to the statement, the programme brings together various activities to encourage community participation, especially among youth and families, while introducing the modern agriculture sector to the public.
“Among the main activities are the Agriventure Explore Hunt and the Agri Art: Colouring Competition, which are now open for public registration.
“Visitors also have the opportunity to participate in various interactive activities, view agricultural technology exhibitions, purchase local agro-products and enjoy the experience at the Selangor Melon Technology Centre,” it said.
The public, especially Selangor residents, are invited to enliven the festival, which aims to promote the modern agriculture sector, strengthen the state’s agro-industry and raise awareness on the importance of food security.

Previously, Agriculture Exco, Dato’ Ir Izham Hashim said Selangor will introduce a new variety called Mas Melon, which has a sweeter taste and has the potential to become a high-value agricultural product in the state.
According to Izham, the variety is currently undergoing a trial project at the Kampung Endah Agriculture Centre in Kuala Langat before being expanded to the local market.
According to him, the introduction of Mas Melon is seen as capable of opening new market opportunities while helping to increase the income of local entrepreneurs.
The Selangor Department of Agriculture informed that the melon cultivation project is undertaken by Koperasi Melon Selangor Berhad with six main varieties.
The six varieties are Masmelon, Melosel, Rockmelon, Golden Kopmess, Golden Melon and Golden Emerald.
