Pierre Andre embraces simplicity, avoids mobile phones and social media

KUALA LUMPUR: Director and actor Muhammad Pierre Andre Nazarul Andre, known as Pierre Andre, shares that he finds great comfort in living without mobile phones and social media accounts, despite their ubiquity.

The 39-year-old artist revealed that his wife, Siti Nur Hidayah Hashim, who is also his manager, handles all work and family communications. “I haven’t had a personal mobile phone for a long time because it helps me stay calmer and less stressed. I also don’t use social media,” he said in a Harian Metro interview.

Pierre emphasized that maintaining his peace of mind is crucial, and he achieves this by staying away from mobile phones. “If I need to check current events, I use my wife’s phone. I’m aware of what’s happening around me but choose not to engage on social media. I prefer to keep a low profile and rely on my wife for both work and personal matters.”

Having kept a low profile in the entertainment industry for a decade, Pierre said he now enjoys a more private life, free from public recognition. “I’m currently focused on my clothing business, which has expanded my knowledge beyond movies to include fabric. My wife and I run a clothing business together. I also manage my own YouTube channel. This has kept me busy over the past decade, along with raising our two children.”

Pierre and Siti Nur Hidayah married in June 2013 and have two children, Aishah Andre, 8, and Zehra Andre, 2.
