Tehran: In a dramatic escalation of hostilities, Iran has launched a massive barrage of ballistic missiles and drones as part of the fifteenth phase of Operation True Promise III, targeting military and industrial facilities in the Israeli-occupied territories, particularly in Tel Aviv and Haifa.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) confirmed in an official statement that Thursday’s retaliatory strike utilized both missiles and over a hundred types of combat and suicide drones. The operation was described as the most extensive and technologically advanced phase of the campaign so far.
According to the IRGC, the offensive targeted critical components of the Israeli military-industrial complex, including anti-missile interceptor systems and command centers. Iranian military sources claimed that a key intelligence and command hub near a hospital in the occupied territories was destroyed in the attack.
Tactical Innovation and Strategic Impact
Iranian armed forces reportedly employed cutting-edge tactics to circumvent Israel’s missile defense systems, many of which are supported by the United States. The operation also featured the deployment of advanced missile technology, including the Khaiber-Shekan, Fattah, and Sejjil missile systems—a new generation of strategic weapons designed to outmaneuver interception.
The IRGC emphasized that further missile operations remain on the agenda, targeting what it described as “core enablers” of Israel’s military infrastructure.
Media Blackout in Israel
In response to the attacks, the Israeli government has enforced a comprehensive media blackout, banning the publication of images and videos related to the Iranian strikes. Aerial live feeds from impacted areas have also been suspended, raising concerns over the full extent of the damage sustained.
Israeli media, prior to the censorship, had referred to the attack as the “largest barrage of missiles” yet in the conflict, marking a significant escalation following what Tehran described as an “unprovoked act of aggression” by the Israeli regime days earlier.
Khamenei Vows Resistance
In a video statement released on Wednesday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei reinforced Iran’s stance, stating:
“The Iranian nation will firmly stand against any imposed war. We will never surrender to pressure or imposition in any form.”
The escalating tensions have drawn international concern, with analysts warning that the situation in the Middle East is now at a critical juncture. Regional powers and global stakeholders are closely monitoring developments, with diplomatic interventions anticipated in the coming days.
