PETALING JAYA: National women’s bowler Natasha Mohamed Roslan failed to defend her International Bowling Federation (IBF) World Cup title after losing in the final in Munich, Germany, yesterday.

The 28-year-old went down 1-2 to France’s Manon Clement in the match held at Max Munich Bowling in Brunnthal.

Natasha put up a strong fight but lost the opening game 198-231 before bouncing back to level the match with a convincing 286-147 victory in the second game.

However, she was unable to maintain her momentum in the deciding game, losing 168-204 and missing out on the opportunity to retain the title she won last year.

For the record, Natasha made history at the previous edition in Kowloon, Hong Kong, when she became the first Malaysian female bowler to win the IBF World Cup after defeating Germany’s Birgit Noreiks 217-166, 226-169 in the final.
