SEREMBAN, Feb 5: Global semiconductor manufacturer Nexperia has reinforced its long-term growth strategy and supply chain partnerships by hosting a Global Supplier Day at its high-volume production facility in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
The event brought together 40 international suppliers from across the globe, providing a platform to align on Nexperia’s expansion plans, operational priorities, and future collaboration opportunities amid rising global demand for semiconductors.
In his opening remarks, Nexperia CEO a. i. Stefan Tilger emphasized the critical role of suppliers in ensuring stable and reliable supply to customers worldwide.
“Our suppliers are essential to our ability to serve global markets. Despite current operational challenges, our strong financial foundation and shared commitment give us confidence in the path ahead. We look forward to continuing this journey through trust, transparency, and long-term collaboration,” he said.
The event also featured a keynote address by TS Norhizam Ibrahim, executive director of manufacturing development (non-resource) at the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), who highlighted Malaysia’s growing strategic importance within the global semiconductor ecosystem.
“This Global Supplier Day strengthens Malaysia’s industrial resilience and supports the development of supply chains capable of withstanding global disruptions. Our focus is on integrating capable Malaysian firms into the global semiconductor value chain while deepening partnerships with industry leaders such as Nexperia,” he said.
The gathering comes as Nexperia’s Seremban facility prepares for an accelerated ramp-up in production capacity, supporting the company’s broader objective of geographical diversification and ensuring consistent supply to customers worldwide.
Nexperia said the expansion of its Malaysian operations is closely tied to strong collaboration with its global supplier network, underscoring the importance of long-term partnerships in sustaining growth and enhancing resilience across the semiconductor industry.
The company’s continued investment also reinforces Malaysia’s position as a key manufacturing and supply hub in the global semiconductor value chain.
