SUBANG JAYA: The classic car club ‘My Classic Cars’ has donated to seven charitable organizations in conjunction with the 67th National Day as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

Rukshan Munesinghe, Director of My Classic Cars, stated that this is an annual event held each year on August 31 to celebrate charitable organizations in need of support.

He mentioned that their initiative has brought joy to the recipients.

He said, under the theme of the 11th Malaysia Classic Cars Merdeka Charity Drive 2024, a target of at least RM3,000 will be given to each charitable organization, totaling an overall donation of RM21,000.

He added that this year, the club has raised RM32,000 from classic car owners and enthusiasts, as well as contributing partners.

“This year, we successfully raised RM32,000. Twenty percent of this will be spent, while eighty percent will be donated.

“To date, we have reached our target of RM3,000 per organization, totaling RM21,000. However, today’s donations exceeded the target, and we are able to contribute approximately RM3,300 per organization,” he said.

He made these remarks during the 11th Malaysia Classic Cars Merdeka Charity Drive 2024 event at Kampungku Restaurant, Lakeview Club.

The seven charitable organizations receiving donations include Anbe Sivam Care Center from Klang, Praise Emmanuel Children’s Home from Petaling Jaya, Siraman Kasih Welfare Home from Rawang, Michael Selangor Charity Association from Petaling Jaya, Mary KL Orphanage from Setapak, Hiichikok Foundation from Jalan Ipoh, and Charis Home from Taman Yarl.

Additionally, apart from the donation handover, attendees were able to enjoy a classic car exhibition, charity auction, and performances by children from the involved welfare homes.

According to Rukshan, My Classic Cars not only focuses on this annual event but also engages in charitable activities by providing free meals to the homeless every Monday.

“Our CSR activities involve delivering meals every Monday, 52 times a year, distributing 80 to 100 food packages in the Historic Triangle area,” he said.

My Classic Cars, an organization established in 2011, brings together classic car owners and enthusiasts and has actively organized classic car driving events regularly. This is part of their CSR campaign and serves as a platform for classic car enthusiasts in Malaysia to share their passion.
