KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to Pakistan presents significant potential for expanding bilateral relations between the two countries, said Malaysia’s High Commissioner, Datuk Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, in Islamabad on Saturday.

According to Bernama, he stated that the strategic cooperation between Malaysia and Pakistan holds immense potential, given both parties’ desire to broaden their relationship across various fields.

“Malaysia and Pakistan share a deep bond, and we are committed to further strengthening our fraternal ties, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and technological cooperation,” he said in a statement marking Malaysia’s National Day.

“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to Pakistan will underscore the importance we place on this relationship. The visit is expected to elevate our cooperation to a higher level, fostering greater collaboration for the mutual benefit of our countries,” Azhar added.

He also mentioned that the celebration of Malaysia’s independence serves to reinforce the values of unity, tolerance, and respect inspired by the leaders and heroes of the nation’s struggle for independence.

“For our friends in Pakistan and around the world, National Day provides a glimpse into Malaysia’s rich and diverse culture,” he said.
