Melaka State Election: BN Candidate List Not Final Until Saturday’s Announcement – Ab Rauf

MELAKA: Barisan Nasional’s (BN) list of candidates for the Melaka State Election has yet to be finalised and will only be confirmed on the night of the official candidate announcement this Saturday.

Melaka BN Election Director Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said potential candidates had already been identified and shortlisted.

According to him, the final decision will only be made on the evening of October 24.

He said this following the 16th Melaka State Election BN Main Committee Meeting at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Ab Rauf, who is also the Melaka Chief Minister, expressed his appreciation to BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for entrusting him with the responsibility of serving as Melaka BN Election Director.

He said he would carry out the responsibility to the best of his ability, including coordinating the duties and roles of component party leaders to support election preparations across the state.

“We hope that the understanding and cooperation among component parties will help BN achieve its objectives in this Melaka State Election.

“I would like to thank Ahmad Zahid for entrusting me with the responsibility of serving as Melaka BN Election Director. Insya-Allah,” he said.
