GEORGE TOWN: Four people were injured after the BMW they were travelling in was involved in a collision with an oil tanker at Kilometre 3.4 of the First Penang Bridge, heading towards the island, early Thursday morning.
In the incident, which occurred at approximately 12.13 am, the 53-year-old oil tanker driver was reported to have escaped unhurt.
The accident is believed to have occurred following heavy rain in the state.

He said firefighters subsequently carried out clean-up operations to remove debris from the accident and ensure there were no further hazards at the scene.
