Malaysia Calls for Diplomatic Solution to Thailand-Cambodia Border Issue

Putrajaya, Sept 20 (V0M):Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he had spoken with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet yesterday to obtain updates on the latest developments along the Thailand-Cambodia border.

Anwar emphasized the importance of addressing unresolved issues through the Joint Border Committee (JBC) meeting, stressing that dialogue and diplomacy remain the most effective means of resolving disputes.

“Malaysia believes that the spirit of dialogue, diplomacy, and mutual understanding among ASEAN partners is the best path towards settling any form of dispute,” he said.

The Prime Minister reiterated Malaysia’s commitment to supporting ASEAN’s principle of peaceful engagement and encouraged all parties to work together to maintain regional stability and harmony.
