Brunei is very committed to working with other countries in the area, as shown by His Majesty’s attendance at the upcoming 46th ASEAN Summit at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
During the 44th ASEAN Summit in Vientiane, Laos, in October 2024, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah talked about how important it was to fight climate change and make the area stronger.
This year, Malaysia is chairing ASEAN with the theme “Inclusivity and Sustainability.” This shows that Malaysia wants to build a strong, united, and forward-looking ASEAN community.
This is Malaysia’s fifth time as ASEAN Chairman. The last four times were in 1977, 1997, 2005, and 2015.
The 46th ASEAN Summit will also be the first ASEAN-GCC Summit and the second ASEAN-GCC Summit with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
