Jeddah to Host First International Forum on Giftedness in Higher Education

JEDDAH: The University of Jeddah is set to host the first International Forum on Giftedness in Higher Education on September 3 to 4 at its conference center, under the patronage of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Education, Yousef Al-Benyan.

The two-day forum will showcase award-winning student innovations that have gained recognition at international exhibitions. It will also highlight the latest local and global developments in talent and gifted education, presenting policies, programs, and strategies designed to nurture gifted students and enhance their role in the labor market.

Organizers said the event aims to raise awareness among university students, families, and stakeholders about the importance of supporting gifted learners, while also fostering innovation in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals for sustainable development.

The program will feature keynote sessions, panel discussions, cultural competitions, interactive exhibitions, and specialized workshops, offering diverse opportunities for participants to engage and share expertise.

Experts will also discuss the future of talent care in universities, addressing the challenges faced by higher education institutions and exploring solutions to strengthen educational environments and talent programs across Saudi and international universities.

The forum is expected to attract a wide range of participants, including university faculty and leaders from public and private institutions, schoolteachers, families of gifted students, directors of talent centers, social workers, psychologists, and researchers in the fields of talent development, innovation, and creativity. Gifted students from both general and higher education will also be in attendance.

Organizers emphasized that the gathering seeks to make a significant contribution to the advancement and attraction of talent in higher education, keeping pace with global shifts and strengthening national capabilities.
