GGR Motor launches first electric Motorcycle, Lion G1 at only RM1,599 through MARiiCas subsidy
GGR Motor also aims to help segments of the community such as students and fresh graduates to own a motorcycle at an affordable price.
KUALA LUMPUR – GGR Motor today marked a new milestone in the nation’s automotive landscape by launching its first electric motorcycle, the Lion G1, at an affordable price of RM1,599, thanks to a special subsidy under the MARiiCas program.
The launch event held at Saloma KLCC was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan.
Also present were the Chairman of GGR Motor, Tengku Syarif Temenggong Perlis, Datuk Seri Diraja Syed Amir Abidin Jamalullail, and the Director-General of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Dato’ Zulfikri Osman.
GGR Motor’s Managing Director, Muhammad Mussaddiq Mohamed Azmi, said the launch of the Lion G1 is in line with the company’s aspiration to realize the vision of “One Home, One EV”.
He said GGR Motor also aims to help segments of the community such as students and fresh graduates to own a motorcycle at an affordable price.
“This is not just a slogan, but a clear objective to ensure that every household in Malaysia—whether in cities, rural areas, PPR flats or FELDA settlements—has access to affordable, economical and quality electric vehicles,” he said.

The Lion G1 is equipped with a 3,000-watt motor, offering a travel range of up to 120 kilometers per full charge.
It also supports fast charging up to 50% in 1 hour 30 minutes, and comes with a comprehensive warranty of up to 50,000 kilometers.
Although the base price of the Lion G1 is RM3,999, users only need to pay RM1,599 after receiving the MARiiCas subsidy.
To date, 3,000 units have been pre-ordered since the pre-launch, with the first 1,000 units scheduled for delivery by the end of July.
In conjunction with the launch, GGR Motor also organized the EV Rider Malaysia Carnival 2025, a national event gathering industry players, users, government agencies and the EV community from both local and international fronts.
Starting from 8 a.m., the carnival was enlivened by appearances from local celebrities including Ajak Shiro, Nabil Ahmad, Johan, Cat Farish, Amer Masdi, Black Hanifah, Bella Astillah, Farid Kamil, and Aaron Aziz, along with a special appearance by Datuk Seri Aliff Shukri.
The excitement was further amplified with live music performances at Lanai Matic by indie bands such as Jemson, The Woohoo and Iqbal, as well as international DJ collaborations including Iksan Skuter (Indonesia), DJ Teera (Thailand) and DJ Alip Mazlan (Malaysia).

The public also stood a chance to win a Lion G1 EV motorcycle through a lucky draw for every purchase of a GGR t-shirt worth RM40.
This initiative is carried out in collaboration with Perniagaan Mazlan & Hashimah (PMH Motor) Sdn Bhd as the Exclusive Strategic Partner and main distributor of GGR Motor, with support from industry players such as BATERIKU, PETRONAS, and PMH.
Additionally, international companies like Varchea Votol China, Votol Thailand, FJN China, and Vectrix are also collaborating with GGR.
According to Mussaddiq, GGR Motor is also forging a strategic partnership with MARA to expand its distribution network by appointing MARA entrepreneurs as EV distributors nationwide and offering technical training in the EV technology sector.
“With support from institutions such as IKM Beseri, UNIKL MFI, and MARA training centers, we will provide SKM Level 3 certification training in EV motorcycle assembly, maintenance, and sales,” he added.

In terms of after-sales service, GGR Motor and PMH Motor are working with PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PLMM) to establish official PETRONAS MotoExpert workshops, which will use PETRONAS Iona EV lubricants.
Meanwhile, BATERIKU will be responsible for coordinating maintenance and technical support nationwide, further strengthening the country’s green mobility ecosystem.
The launch of the Lion G1 and the hosting of EV Rider Malaysia Carnival 2025 are seen as vital steps toward positioning Malaysia as a regional EV hub and accelerating the country’s transition toward green mobility.
