KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Finance (MOF) will extend the cash refund mechanism until this August for eligible logistics vehicle owners who have not yet received their fleet cards.

According to Bernama, the Ministry of Finance stated that this facility is available only to eligible logistics vehicle owners whose applications under the Subsidized Diesel Control System (SKDS) 2.0 have been approved on or before June 30, 2024.

The extension allows qualified applicants to claim for diesel usage from June 10 to August 31, 2024, or until they receive their fleet cards, whichever comes first, for a maximum period of three months.

“The deadline for submitting claims has also been extended to September 15, 2024,” the statement read.

Other terms and conditions stated on June 28 remain unchanged, including the requirement to keep the original diesel purchase receipts for audit purposes and to adhere to the diesel claim limit for each submission, which is only for one month’s expenses.

The Ministry of Finance informed eligible logistics vehicle owners that they can start submitting claims for August 2024 beginning August 12.

In the same statement, Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan stated that the extension of the cash payment gives eligible logistics companies sufficient time to receive their fleet cards without facing difficulties in receiving targeted subsidies.

“The government remains committed to ensuring the smooth implementation of this diesel subsidy targeting, including ensuring that all eligible parties can fully benefit from this assistance to reduce the impact on the people,” he said.

According to the Ministry of Finance, this mechanism serves as a temporary facilitator for cash refunds to cover the difference between the retail price of diesel and the SKDS 2.0 price of RM2.15 per liter.

Eligible logistics vehicle owners can apply for this cash refund through the Budi Madani portal at https://budimadani.gov.my.

Qualified applicants will receive a cash refund to cover the difference between the retail price of diesel on the date of purchase compared to the SKDS 2.0 price of RM2.15 per liter, for diesel used since June 10, 2024, with specific liter limits for each vehicle per month.
