Final Preparations Underway for Malaysia’s National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2026 Launch in Perak

IPOH: Final preparations are in full swing for the launch of National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2026 Campaign, which will officially kick off Malaysia’s 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM2026) celebrations at Dewan Sri Perdana, Sultan Azlan Shah Institute of Health Ministry Training (ILKKM SAS) in Tanjung Rambutan, Ipoh.

The national event, scheduled to take place on Sunday (July 19), will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, marking the beginning of nationwide celebrations leading up to National Day and Malaysia Day.

Officials are putting the finishing touches on the venue to ensure the ceremony proceeds smoothly, with a variety of patriotic performances and cultural presentations planned to celebrate the spirit of unity and nationhood.

Among the key highlights of the programme is the Patriot Merdeka Run, which will take place in the morning and is expected to attract participants from various backgrounds in a show of national solidarity.

The ceremony will also feature the official launch of the Hari Kebangsaan dan Hari Malaysia 2026 (HKHM2026) theme song, to be performed by one of Malaysia’s most renowned male singers, adding a special patriotic touch to the national celebration.

Although this year’s event will be held on a moderate scale in a closed setting, Malaysians across the country will still be able to witness the launch through live broadcasts on Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama).

The event will also be streamed live via Merdeka360 Facebook Live, as well as the official social media platforms of the Ministry of Communications and the Department of Information Malaysia (Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia), allowing the public nationwide to participate virtually in the launch of the country’s annual independence celebrations.

The launch ceremony signals the beginning of a series of patriotic programmes and activities that will be held across Malaysia in conjunction with the country’s National Day and Malaysia Day 2026 celebrations.
