ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46), held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur : In his remarks, Chairman Man commended Malaysia for its thorough preparations and reaffirmed that Vietnam will work closely with the Malaysian parliament and other AIPA member parliaments to ensure the success of AIPA-46. He emphasized that Vietnam remains committed to fostering inclusive and sustainable development across the ASEAN region.

The Chairman also welcomed the strong support from AIPA member parliaments for Vietnam’s draft resolutions submitted for adoption at the General Assembly. These proposals focus on critical areas, including digital economy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, intra-regional trade, and parliamentary diplomacy in maintaining peace and stability.

The session, chaired by Dato’ Johari Bin Abdul, Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives and President of AIPA-46, brought together parliamentary delegation heads and the AIPA Secretary-General. As the assembly’s first major activity, the meeting finalized the agenda, draft resolutions, committee discussions, and other key matters to be presented for approval.

Delegates highlighted the importance of AIPA-46’s theme, “Parliament at the Forefront for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable ASEAN,” noting its alignment with ASEAN’s 2025 chairmanship theme of “Inclusivity and Sustainability.” They stressed that the theme reflects the responsibility of AIPA member parliaments to strengthen solidarity and build a dynamic, resilient, and people-centered ASEAN Community.

On the same day, Vietnamese NA deputies also participated in the 4th ASEAN-AIPA Dialogue on building an inclusive and sustainable future, the WAIPA Women Political Leaders Forum, and the AIPA Young Parliamentarians’ discussion.
