Arab foreign ministers have unanimously rejected former U.S. President Donald Trump’s suggestion to transfer Palestinians from the occupied territories to other countries, describing it as a violation of international law and the rights of Palestinians.

During a meeting of the Arab League in Cairo on Saturday, foreign ministers from member states expressed strong opposition to Trump’s proposal, which was part of his broader peace plan for the Middle East. The ministers emphasized their firm support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The proposal, which suggested transferring Palestinian populations in the West Bank and Gaza to other Arab countries, was met with widespread criticism, particularly from Palestinian authorities and neighboring Arab nations.

“The transfer of Palestinians is an unacceptable violation of international resolutions, including the right to self-determination and the right of refugees to return to their homeland,” said Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League.

The Arab foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Palestinian sovereignty and sovereignty over their lands, stressing the need for a peaceful resolution that upholds justice, dignity, and the rights of the Palestinian people.
