All students encouraged to benefit from educational assistance provided by the Sabah government, says Mohd Arifin
BANGI: All students are encouraged to take advantage of the educational assistance provided by the Sabah state government and to share this information with their families and friends.
The Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation (KSTI) and EXCO for Religion, Datuk Dr. Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif, stated that the Sabah state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, is always concerned and prioritizes human capital development.
“This is to prepare leaders who will shape the future of Sabah.
“Therefore, the Sabah state government is committed to ensuring that no one is left behind in receiving education in Sabah.
“The government will always ensure that the children of Sabah can continue their studies to higher levels,” he said while speaking at a friendly gathering with the Sabah Student Association.

According to Arifin, this year, the state government has allocated RM44 million to provide various educational assistance initiatives.
He mentioned that the assistance includes one-off cash aid for IPT registration (BUDI), computer assistance (BAIK), PIBG activity assistance (BAGUS), student association assistance under the Sabah Malaysian Student Secretariat (SEMESTA), and school assistance in Sabah (BISBAH).
“In addition, there is the Sabah Education Savings Assistance (BISTARI), special cash assistance for exams (BAKTI), the Sabah Education Excellence Award (AKSA), small school maintenance assistance (BALKIS), and special education program assistance (BANTU).
“The state government has also increased the allocation for the Sabah State Government Scholarship (BKNS) from RM55 million to RM113 million, with a cumulative target of 11,000 sponsored students in 2024,” he said.

Arifin added that for the first time, the Sabah state government has announced a flight ticket subsidy assistance (Subfly) or Sabah Graduate Reunion Subsidy (GRS) of RM600 per person.
He stated that this assistance is provided to Sabah students studying in Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak, and Labuan to return home to Sabah, with a total allocation of RM10 million.
“I urge everyone to join hands to realize the aspirations and goals of the government in producing excellent, quality human capital with high knowledge in Sabah, in particular.
“I also pray that all of you remain healthy and prosperous to continue gaining knowledge and achieve outstanding success for the state of Sabah,” he said.
