Visit Selangor Year: Targeting 10 million tourists
SERDANG: The Selangor government is aiming to attract between 8 million to 10 million tourists to the state as part of the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign.
Datuk Ng Suee Lim, the State Executive Councillor for Local Government and Tourism, stated that this target is expected to be achievable given the increasing trend of tourist arrivals to Selangor over the past three years.
“By actively collaborating with Tourism Selangor, we aim to meet the target of 8 million to 10 million domestic and international tourists visiting Selangor next year.
“This will significantly boost the economy in Selangor. We will ensure that many tourists come,” he said during a visit to Farm in The City.
He added that the state government is focusing on attracting tourists from six countries to Selangor for Visit Selangor Year 2025.
He mentioned that Selangor is targeting tourists from Singapore, China, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, and the Middle East.
Additionally, Suee Lim, who is also the State Assemblyman for Sekinchan, said that Farm in The City should be used as a model as it successfully attracts tourists to the area.
He noted that Farm in The City has greatly contributed to the national tourism industry.
“Farm in The City is an example of a successful tourism product,” he said.
