KUALA LUMPUR: The 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) will be drafted using the same approach as the First Malaysia Plan, said Minister of Economy Rafizi Ramli.

According to the Wilayahku portal, he explained that this approach is intended to make the plan more concise and comprehensive, starting from a “blank canvas.”

He further stated that RMK13 will focus on addressing economic challenges and implementing more radical and structured reforms.

“This will allow the government to remain adaptive and responsive to the needs of the people.

“The government is committed to implementing radical, bold, and transformative reforms that will strengthen the country’s economic foundations and ensure Malaysia is well-positioned to capitalize on the vast potential of the ASEAN region,” he said while speaking at the RMK13 Inception Conference.

Meanwhile, in a press briefing, Rafizi mentioned that RMK13 is expected to be completed by May next year.

He noted that the important document for the country’s economic planning is scheduled to be presented at a parliamentary session in July next year after being approved by the government.

“The time frame for approval by the government and submission to Parliament is within two months,” he said.
