KUALA LUMPUR: Felcra Berhad has refuted allegations regarding the sale of factories under its management, stating that it continues to operate as usual.

According to Sinar Harian, its Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Idris Lasim, stated that the management has confirmed that no proposals for sale have been submitted to the Board of Directors for approval.

“Felcra Berhad operates manufacturing and engineering operations, including the operation of palm oil processing plants.

“There are five fully-owned and managed palm oil processing plants: the Palm Oil Mill in Seberang Perak, Perak; Maran, Pahang; Sungai Melikai, Johor; Bukit Kepong, Johor; and Felcra Nasaruddin, Perak.

“To date, no sales of these factories have occurred, and they remain operational as usual,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Previously, the media reported that Bersatu Information Committee member Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegu Bard, alleged that Felcra is in the process of establishing a new joint venture entity to own factories under the company.

He claimed that under this joint venture, Felcra would only be a minority stakeholder, and the majority stakeholder would make the decisions.

Chegu Bard added that through this agreement, Felcra was promised only RM1.5 million per year compared to previous factories that generated much higher profits.

Meanwhile, Idris emphasized that any allegations on social media linking its Chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, to the sale of factories to any party are untrue.

“Felcra will continue to commit to serving the community and ensuring that the interests of all parties involved are prioritized to strengthen the company’s position in the agribusiness manufacturing industry.

“After 27 years of incorporation, it has successfully distributed over RM8.11 billion in profit sharing to nearly 107,000 participants across Malaysia.

“Additionally, Felcra is also developing land commercially and venturing into the agri-food sector,” he said.
