Firefighters Rescue Four Factory Workers Trapped by Floodwaters

KUALA SELANGOR: Firefighters rescued four individuals who were trapped inside a factory due to flooding at Jalan Titanium, Taman Industri Batu 22, Ijok, here today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division Director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 5.39 pm before a team of eight firefighters from the Bestari Jaya Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, firefighters found four victims trapped inside the factory.

“The Operations Commander instructed the personnel on duty to evacuate all the trapped victims,” he said in a statement.

Ashrul Riezal said the victims were evacuated using a four-wheel-drive vehicle belonging to the Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) Rapid Response Squad Unit.

“The water level at the location was estimated to be one metre deep.

“After the rescue operation was completed, firefighters and their fire engine continued monitoring the flood situation in the Saujana Aman area,” he said.
