Rafizi to Sue Ramanan Over Corruption Allegations

PETALING JAYA:  Former economy minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli is initiating legal action against Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan over allegations of corruption and other claims made against him.

In a statement on Friday (Oct 23), Rafizi said he had instructed his lawyers to begin legal proceedings after reviewing Ramanan’s press conference on Thursday (Oct 22).

He said his legal team believed there were strong grounds for a defamation lawsuit over the allegations made by Ramanan, including claims linking him to corruption.

Rafizi also called on Members of Parliament to consider referring Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s statement on the matter to Parliament’s Rights and Privileges Committee.

The planned legal action marks a further development in the dispute between Rafizi and Ramanan, with the allegations and the proposed defamation proceedings now becoming the focus of the controversy.
