PETALING JAYA: Nine individuals, including three women, were charged at the Sessions Court here today with being members of an organised crime group known as “Geng Yunaa” since January last year.

The accused are Mohamed Amirul Mohamed Razali, Mohd Amirul Naim Mohd Asbie Syaifullah Abdullah, Mohammad Joshua Salman, Lai Kok Hoe, Tham Yong Zhi, Seah Joon Keat, and three women, Nuraslinda Natasha Hanafi, Nur Suhada Benjamin Abdullah and Aiman Muna Mohamed Razali.

All nine accused, aged between 18 and 43, nodded to indicate that they understood the charges after they were read separately before Judge Dr Syahliza Warnoh.

However, no pleas were recorded as the case involves organised crime, which falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

According to the charges, they are accused of being members of the organised crime group “Geng Yunaa” at Centrestage Petaling Jaya between January 2025 and September 25, 2026.

They were charged under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of between five and 20 years upon conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Lina Hanini Ismail did not offer bail as the offence is non-bailable.

The court subsequently fixed December 7 for further mention of the case.

During today’s proceedings, Seah was represented by lawyer Khailash Sharma, while Tham and Lai were represented by lawyer Kelvin Francis. The remaining accused were unrepresented.

Yesterday, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Director Datuk M Kumar was reported as saying that police had successfully dismantled “Geng Yunaa”, which was suspected of involvement in 17 cases of prostitution and child trafficking for sexual exploitation.

The operation, codenamed Ops Angel, was conducted in the Klang Valley from September 24 to 26.
