Selangor Allocates Up to RM20 Million to Help Resolve Strata Ownership Issues

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government has allocated up to RM20 million over a two-year period beginning in 2025 in an effort to resolve long-standing issues involving strata title ownership in the state.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said resolving the issue involves more than just building plan approvals, local authorities (PBT), land offices or land tax payments, as it also requires the collection and updating of owners’ information.

“Imagine a strata development with more than 200 units, and sometimes thousands. It takes a considerable amount of time to enter and update the necessary data and information.

“We need a more comprehensive process because several steps that were left unresolved in the past still need to be addressed,” he said when officiating the 2026 Selangor Strata Community Empowerment Initiative Presentation Ceremony here today.

Meanwhile, State Housing and Culture Executive Councillor Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said the state government, through the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS), has allocated a total of RM5.68 million under three strata community empowerment initiatives for 2026.

Borhan said the initiatives comprise the CERIA Scheme, the Selangor Apartment Residential Revitalisation and Community Strengthening Programme (SPARK), and the C-SMART 2.0 Programme.

“Of the total, RM5.16 million has been allocated under the CERIA Scheme to carry out repair works involving 12 strata housing schemes.

“Another RM184,000 has been channelled through the SPARK Programme to 23 apartment developments, with a grant of RM8,000 for each apartment, while RM340,000 has been allocated for C-SMART 2.0 involving 12 local authorities throughout Selangor,” he said.
