Siti Nuraini Dies While Scuba Diving in Bali

SHAH ALAM: A Malaysian woman died while scuba diving in the waters of Crystal Bay, Sakti Village, Bali, Indonesia, yesterday.

The victim, Siti Nuraini Rusidi, 40, was reported to have died in the incident, which occurred at about 11.10 am local time.

According to a report by local media portal BaliNews, Siti Nuraini took part in the diving activity with a divemaster, boat captain and several other divers, beginning at about 8 am.

However, concerns over her health arose when divemaster Eugenius Franciso Ray, 33, noticed that she was coughing when they arrived at their first dive site at Manta Bay.

The divemaster reportedly asked about her condition, but she said she was still able to continue with the activity and completed the dive at Manta Bay.

“While on the way to the next dive site at Crystal Bay, the victim was again asked about her condition, but she still wanted to take part in the dive there,” the portal reported, citing a source.

The situation reportedly turned critical after the group arrived at Crystal Bay, where they encountered very strong sea currents.

The strong currents caused three divers to be swept away, while Siti Nuraini was reported to have died in the incident.

The incident later drew attention in Malaysia after details of the tragedy were shared by a user on the Threads platform.
