Zayn Rayyan’s parents were detained by the police to help with the investigation
KUALA LUMPUR: The police confirmed that the arrest of both Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin’s parents was related to the murder of the child whose body was found near Idaman Apartments, Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya on December 5.
Berita Harian reported, Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, in a statement, today said the couple was arrested at 10.05am, yesterday.
He said the arrest was carried out by a team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters.
“Both were remanded today at the Petaling Jaya Court and allowed to be remanded for seven days starting today until June 7, 2024.
“This is to help the investigation of the murder case,” he said in a statement today.
Earlier, the media reported that the parents of the autistic child, Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, 6, whose body was found about 200 meters from his residence in Idaman Apartments, Damansara Damai, last December, were arrested.
Sources informed that the two individuals were arrested around Puncak Alam, yesterday.
