11 Houses Destroyed In Fire At Inanam

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 11 houses were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Kalansanan, Inanam, here last night.

Lintas Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Noor Sherriyana Bohari, said that no casualties were reported in the incident which occurred at around 9.20 p.m.

“The team arrived at the location at 9.30 p.m. and found that the fire involved 12 non-permanent houses that had caught fire. The operation found that 11 houses were completely destroyed while one suffered 50 per cent damage,” she said.

She said that firefighting operations were carried out using three lines of 300 feet in length with six jets, using water sources from the vehicle tank as well as an open source from a nearby river.

The cause of the fire and the total losses are still under investigation by the fire department.
