PUTRAJAYA: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim joined thousands of worshippers in performing the Aidiladha prayers at Putra Mosque in an atmosphere marked by simplicity, harmony and deep spiritual reflection.

The congregation echoed the Aidiladha takbir together before listening to a sermon titled “Sacrifice Demands Sincerity”, which highlighted that true sacrifice goes beyond wealth and physical effort.
The sermon reminded Muslims that genuine sacrifice also involves letting go of ego, arrogance, hatred and all negative traits that distance individuals from the mercy and blessings of Allah SWT.
Worshippers were also encouraged to strengthen ukhuwah (brotherhood), nurture compassion and kindness towards others, and embrace the spirit of sacrifice as the foundation for building a united, caring and morally strong society.
Following the prayers, Anwar spent time greeting worshippers, exchanging festive wishes and taking photographs with members of the congregation in celebration of the blessed occasion.
He expressed hope that this year’s Aidiladha would further strengthen faith and devotion to Allah SWT, deepen bonds of brotherhood and cultivate sincerity and sacrifice in daily life and acts of worship.
“May the spirit of Aidiladha continue to inspire unity, compassion and gratitude among all Malaysians,” he said.
