Temporary Disruption of MyKad Printing Services from Today Until 7 Sept – JPN

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Registration Department (JPN) is currently undergoing a transition process from the existing MyKad structure to the New Generation MyKad, which is expected to cause a temporary disruption to MyKad printing services nationwide.

JPN, in a statement today, informed that the temporary disruption of MyKad printing services is expected to begin today until 7 September.

In this regard, JPN advises members of the public who do not have an urgent need to make a MyKad replacement or renewal to temporarily postpone their transactions throughout the said period.

“For first-time applications for children aged 12, parents or guardians are also encouraged to wait a while so that their children can receive the New Generation MyKad once its issuance begins in the near future,” according to the statement.

At the same time, JPN appreciates the patience and cooperation of the public throughout the identity card structure transition process and apologises for any inconvenience that may arise.
